THE SEVEN SAYINGS OF JESUS ON THE CROSS
Jesus never spoke anything that he did not receive from God the Father to say. His words on the cross are as instructional as everything he said before and after this event. Even on the cross, Jesus was teaching us. Let us learn from his words.
1. FORGIVENESS
Luke 23:34 “...Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...”
2. SALVATION
Luke 23:43 “...Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
3. RELATIONSHIP
John 19:26-27 “...Woman, behold thy son!” ... “Disciple, Behold thy mother!”
4. ABANDONMENT
Matthew 27:46 “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
5. DISTRESS
John 19:28 “...I thirst.”
6. TRIUMPH!
John 19:30 “...It is finished.”
7. REUNION!
Luke 23:46 “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit”
