Matthew 7:12
So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Contrary to what many will tell us, God’s laws are not about restricting us, holding us back, or making our lives difficult. God’s rules have a simple purpose. They are to protect us and our fellow man. Jesus taught that the law of God was simple. Do unto others as we would have them do to us. Simple. Powerful. One day we will all live in harmony and will discover the true power of God’s plan of peace. That day will not come until Jesus returns and all wickedness is purged from the earth. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone actually followed God’s law.

Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
The Christian life is not always easy. We need to put effort into it and stay focused on our prize. Our salvation is guaranteed by faith in Jesus Christ, but our path to glory is going to be filled with obstacles and challenges. We will create our worst challenges simply by our own sinful nature. We must narrow our vision and be tightly focused on our one true goal and objective. That is to see Jesus face-to-face and be with him forever.
